Unable to logon due to Domain being unavailable.

We have a set of teachers laptops, that we have reinstalled Windows XP Pro
Sp3 on, and joined the laptops to the domain, and moved the laptops into the
correct OU.

But when staff take thier laptops home, they can nolonger logon to thier
accounts, because the domain is unavailable.

They used to be able to, and i am no aware of any changes to the Group
Policies that would stop them.

I am really stuck on this, can anyone help?

Just to rule out the obvious, is this after they have logged on successfully
to the new laptop while they are connected to the domain?

Yes,

Even a Domain Admin account can't log on when the laptops are not connected
to the network, and they used to be able to as well.

Hello Steve Audus, Chaucer BEC, Sheffield UK,

Have the useres logged on one tiume before they use the machine as standalone?
Check your GPO's for cached credentials setting. Go to:
Computer configuration, windows settings, security settings,local policies,
security options, in the right pane "Number of previous logons to cache"(windows
2000) or "Interactive logon:Number of previous logons to cache"(windows 2003)

Hi - I replied to this identical post in another group. In the future,
