Is it possible to redirect audio from a Windows 2K3 Terminal Server to
thin clients? The server does not have an audio card.

Re: Audio Redirection

yes it is possible because the audio is redirected using a TS virtual
audio driver. Do not expect that you will get good results though
because you will not. RDP is not designed to redirect audio.

Re: Audio Redirection

Sure. And an audio card is not needed in the server, since the sound
is rendered by a virtual device.
You'll have to allow audio redirection on the server and enable it on
the client.

Re: Audio Redirection

Thanks. I don't care if it sounds good. The sound quality isn't my
problem. :D

Re: Audio Redirection

If you experiencing dropouts or a delay while playing videos, have a look in
"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32\Terminal
Server\RDP". There is a REG_DWORD with the name "MaxBandwidth" and the value
22201 ...
