Forgive me if this question appears twice. I just don't think the first one
went in.

This is my question. Is there some way to remove no longer used notification
items from the Taskbar and Start menu properties? I mean that place you find
when you -

Right click on the taskbar at the bottom of the desktop, (click Properties),
(click Hide inactive icons), (click Customize) then look in (Past Items).

In that place there is a antivirus 2009 folder, which is a virus I already
removed from my computer, and that is the only thing I am not able to remove.
I don't want to download any more softwares to remove it. I've already done
that. I just want to know if there is a way to remove things from that place
on my own.

Re: Removing items from taskbar and start menu properties

Go to Start Buton\Run\type: "regedit" (w/o quotes) and hit Enter, next
browse to:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify\double
click on "IconsStreams" and delete the data.
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify\double
click on "PastIconsStream" and delete the data.

And restart the computer for the changes to take effect, Or restart Windows
Explorer: Right click on the Taskbar \ click on task manager \ click the
Processes tab \ click Explorer.exe \ and then click end Process. Next in the
task manager, \ click New Task \ type explorer \ and then click OK.
