There are utilities out there that will let you edit the registered
owner (how comprehensive they are in finding e. g. Office's variant, I
do not know). Obviously, they are just another bit of software to clog
up your system with, and presumably they just do the registry change
anyway. But you may like to try one or two. I'm pretty sure I've seen it
as one of the functions of a multi-tweak suite - isn't it one of the
things in TweakUI perhaps?

Which is under the "Advanced" tab in some versions of Win+F (which is my
way of doing your (a)).
(And if you thought Regedit's find was slow, just wait until you _do_ do
a text find on all files as described above!)
