Hi group,

does anyone know or have some documents, links, ressources how the
tsadvertise feature exactly works?

I was wondering because I enabled the registry key (according to
KB281307) on all of our servers that we access using RDP and now I am
able to see all servers in my RDP-client.

Of course that's what I wanted. But for interesst I'd like to know why
I also see servers in other network segments. So it is for sure no
broadcast mechanism. But how does it work instead?

tia for your help

Greetings,
Marco

I'm guessing it's the old master browser method that NetBIOS was so
famous for. I can't imagine that MS would make it any different but
it's an interesting question and if the question isn't answered, I'll
ping MS directly on it.
