How bad is IE 7 let alone Vista

...the IE7 view is changed so I cannot find stuff, the ergonomics... the
placement of the home page icon is giving me carpal tunnel. And I have yet
to find my Outlook Express icon on the IE 7 Homepage.

Again, Microsoft's evolution incorporating change for the sake of change,
has negatively affected my quality of life.

As to XP and Vista? 2K was working fine but MagicJack decided to collude
with Microsoft and designed their unit to only work on registered, legal MS
XP and newer.

If only I was techie enough to partition my HD and dual boot with Linux
....pushing applicatins toward Linux We owe MS nothing for their evolution.
In the past I booted Windows 3.11 in...five seconds!! I will never
outgrow Office 97.. I bought a freezer 40 years ago and it still runs almost
perfect. Why accept forced tech change and engineered obsolescence that
does not give you a better quality of life? We owe Microsoft no allegiance.
Why do you let the tail wag the dog?

I am beginning to think folk like Larry Ellison and Fiorina and Ballmer are
emblematic of tech Republicans, the coalition of the greediest among us and
the bigots and the racists and the intolerant and the militarist....that
have brought this country to it's knees let alone destroyed one of the only
two political parties of this once great nation.

There you go... the politics and the everyday reality of Microsoft and much
of the software industry............

Feeling better?

You don't have to use Windows at all, let alone Vista. Hell, you can still
drive a Model T if you want. You have plenty of alternatives should you
choose to use them. Ranting in a technical support *peer newsgroup* is not
going to fix your quality of life issues.

Hello,

You don't have to be very "techie" to install Ubuntu Linux. It will take
care of creating the partition it needs, and automatically sets up a
boot menu so you can select between it and your old Windows system.

The Ubuntu Live CD can be used to boot from, and run the Ubuntu
operating system from the CD drive to check to see if Ubuntu works with
your hardware. Then the same disc can be used to install Ubuntu to your
drive.

Ubuntu is the most popular of the Linux distributions and has a very
intuitive interface.

Get it here =
