How can I change the font that is displayed in Windows Explorer's file
and folder panes? Thanks much.

Re: What font is used in Windows Explorer display?

Tahoma or Trebuchet MS, but mostly Tahoma.

Control Panel\Display\Appearance\Advanced Options\ Select the Element and
change the font.

Re: What font is used in Windows Explorer display?

Thanks -- I can't figure out which element I choose for Windows
Explorer's file and folder listings. I see 18 items to choose from in
the "Item" drop-down list box but none of them seems to pertain to
file/folder displays. Thanks for any help.

Changing the font and font size for desktop icons will accomplish what
you're after. One caveat: Don't select 'bold', as some things such as
'read/unread' in Outlook Express will not be indicated, as everything there
will be bold, even if 'read'.

Re: What font is used in Windows Explorer display?

It should be Tahoma size 8 but just in case you should apply Trebuchet, it
has to be size 10

It can be anything you want it to be. It has to do with personal taste,
readability and even word wrap.

Re: What font is used in Windows Explorer display?

Thanks much. Yeah -- you choose "Icon" from the "Item" pull-down menu.

Re: What font is used in Windows Explorer display?

Right,.. I should have said... "by default; Tahoma 8 Trebuchet 10" that was
my only point,... but yes, you can customize it with any font or size,
though size should be better applied from Settings\Advanced\General..
personalized by PPP.
