I've updated every hotfix from microsoft and also change the registry stated
from microsoft, yet i still see one cpu per graph at the task bar.

The machine was ghosted previously.

How do i enable to see dual cpu ?

First, look in the control panel to see how the CPU is identified

Look in the Device manager, under "computer"

If it's only "seen" as a single core CPU.

look at properties ===> driver

then select "upgrade driver"

and select what's appropriate for your CPU

(probably ACPI multiprocessor PC)

Re: XP SP2 not showing Dual Core processor

First check the BIOS to make sure the processor is correctly shown.
Likely your Image source did not use a Multiprocessor PC driver. In
Device Manager, expand the Computer category. If the driver doesn't
have "Multi" in the description, then the driver is incorrect. You'll need
to change the Computer driver. This will likely cause other PCI bus
devices to be re-enumerated. The Device Manager is probably full of
"Phantom" devices which should be removed.

Well, if this machine was upgraded from a single core CPU to something
dual-core, windows will not automatically detect the other CPU. When
XP is installed on a single core/processor system, it is configured as
such. When the system is SMP, it has to be installed from the
beginning so Windows detects there being more than one core or
processor. You could try updating to SP3 but I don't think it will
help if your situation was the latter of what I mentioned.
