I am experiencing a problem with one of my windows 2000 servers. Its role is
file server and print server. It is running on IBM blade with SAN storage. It
doesn't response during production hour and found out that I have to do a
hard reboot.
When booting into the server, it runs the 3 stages check (which is similar
to chkdsk /F). I am able to run my server again and everything is running
normal.
I found Event ID: 55 "The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and
unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume C:" in event viewer.
I have encountered this problem with different servers in different
companies, but never really find out why this happens. How to prevent this
from happening. Any one can shed some light? Thanks.
