Windows 10 Win 10: Event Viewer can't create Custom View

Hi all. In Event Viewer, only on some computers (Win 10 Pro always, doesn't matter what build or patch level, always non-domain systems), on a few computers I cannot create a Custom View. So I go to the Event Viewer > Custom Views > right-click and pick Create Custom View.

On the resulting screen I pick for Last 30 Days, I have the radio button "By log" picked by default, but on the Event logs: dropdown box, I cannot click it. It doesn't expand to show the list, which would normally have things like System, Application, Security, Setup, etc.

Yet on most other Win 10 machines I can do this no problem. I set all Windows 10 non-domain systems up exactly the same way in my client environments, so this appears to be completely random. I'm logged in as administrator, even doing the Run as Administrator thing on Event Viewer, no difference.

Any thoughts? Thanks!
