It is however possible to create folders on the root.

This drive shows same error on 2 systems.

This drive was removed from a faulty computer.

I feel pretty confident that all permissions are configured correctly, in fact if i check the effective access for "Everyone" then it shows full control.

I know that this error is normal for windows and that it prevents the creation of files on C:\ However this drive is no longer a Windows Drive.

The windows dir is deleted along with all associated files and directories for example page file, boot dir, bootmgr....All other system related partitions have been deleted and the one remaining partition does not show as a system or boot. its just a regular partition.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Regards

TJ
