Win 7 Pro 64-bit at the office with lots of security.
Suddenly, there is no beep when toggling Caps Lock or Num Lock. One advanced user is GOING CRAZY WITH UN-WARNED CAPS LOCK.
Yes, we've gone into Ease of Access Center and unchecked and rechecked "Turn on Toggle Keys" and even others on that page, but no luck.
This started when we focused on a different problem and had turned off then turned back on a bunch of services.

Thanks.

☺ In the office, Dell Optiplex 7040 with 8GB RAM, Win 7 Pro 64-bit and Office 2010
☻ At home, Dell Optiplex 7010 with 16GB RAM dual-booting Win 7 Pro 64-bit (now with Office 365 Home) and Win 10 Pro 64-bit
♥ Also still have Dell Optiplex 755 with 4GB RAM with Win XP Pro SP3 (which still gets updates with the POS hack) and Office 2003

Questions -
- What services, files, dlls, etc. run that Caps Lock beep?
- Might it even be a Control Panel .cpl file, as it used to be in XP? Which one? (In XP, was access.cpl. but that does not exist in 7.)
- Should we disable and re-enable the two sound entries in Device Manager? (Recently, we disabled and re-enabled one of them, but no help.)
- Might any recent updates have killed the beep? (MS - shame on you!) Which ones?
- Why is this happening to me?
Thanks.
