I have been using a custom start layout xml for quite some time now but i have always struggled to get the IE icon to show up reliably in the start menu uafter imaging. Here is a copy of my xml that i am using. the icon usually shows up in the start menu while i am building my images but doesn't show up on machines that are imaged with that image.
Note: the taskbar IE shortcut ALWAYS works so i have tried using the same path from that line but it still has the same problem. all of the other shortcuts work great.
