I launch Windows Store and get a message stating "Check your connection", "Microsoft Store needs to be online. It looks like you're not." - "Code: 0x80072F7D".

I've tried EVERYTHING I can find from searching about this:

  • All my automatic updates have run successfully
  • There are no updates pending

I've tried

* Making sure my date/time and timezone are correct. They were both set to automatic, but I tried turning that off and making sure they were both specified correctly.

I've tried

  • temporarily disabling my windows firewall
  • temporarily disabling my anti-malware system

I've tried:

On my Internet/network connection(s)

Checking I don't have a proxy server enabled
Get IP and DHCP settings automatically
tried both WiFi and Ethernet connection
Even tried WiFi to my cell phone hot spot and everything else disconnected
ipconfig /flushdns
*it's obviously not my actual Internet connection - Everything else that access the Internet works

I've tried:

All of the built-in troubleshooters that could possibly be related
Internet Connections
Windows Update
Blue Screen
Hardware and Devices
Incoming Connections
Network Adapter
Windows Store Apps

*None of them find any problem to fix.

I've tried:

reinstalling Window Store - PowerShell (Admin): Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

*wsreset.exe - numerous times

I've tried numerous versions of:

stopping wuauserv, bits, appidsvc, cryptsvc
renaming C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to ...SoftwareDistribution.old
restarting wuauserv, bits, appidsvc, cryptsvc

And I've tried that without any network device enabled, rebooted several times, etc.

Lots and lots of rebooting in between every attempt.

Literally no change in errant behavior

It would be helpful to know what Windows Store is doing to verify if I have an Internet connection, specifically. Checking DNS, accessing a web/api url via http/some port, etc.
