Hi all,
I have an odd problem with the backups on one of our servers.
Bare Metal Recovery isn't working with DPM 2016, Update Rollup 6 for one 2008 R2 server - comes up with a "Replica is inconsistent" error for BMR and System State.
I get an error in the Operational event log of:
The backup operation attempted at '2019-01-23T09:36:05.019669100Z' has failed to start, error code '2155348040'. Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved.
The "Details" section does not contain any other information, other than the backup target of the DPM server.
The error in the DPM Backup Events log says:
Backup job for datasource: Non VSS Datasource Writer on production server: (server) failed.
If BMR is deselected, everything else (system state, drives etc.) backs up without any issues.
Backups to a network share using wbadmin with the -allcritical flag work fine.
I have tried increasing the storage space for BMR, however I do not think this is my problem. I've also tried completely removing the protection group and DPM agent, then reinstalling / adding the server again to no effect.
Anyone have any ideas on where to look next?
