Hi All - Need help on an ongoing issue with "Windows 10 workstations" deployed in our organisation where the Wallpaper of the desktop/ workstation disappears after restarting it. The desktop wallpaper becomes blank(Complete White in color)
Two Work arrounds we have as of now:
-> When i Enable and Disable the "Tablet Mode" the wallpaper appears back.
-> When i click on "Task View" icon(Just on the adjucent right side of START Windows icon) and release it, and the wallpaper appears back.
Current Group Policy setting applied for Windows 10 wallpaper:
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Desktop > Desktop > Desktop Wallpaper = Enabled & set the Path: \\Servername\Wallpaper.jpg
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Desktop > Desktop > Enable Active Desktop = Enabled [For users won't be able to change.]
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization > Prevent changing desktop background = Enabled
Following is the Registry setting getting applied with respect to Group Policy set:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\Wallpaper - Value = \\Servername\Wallpaper.jpg [To set Wallpaper]
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\WallpaperStyle - Value = 2 [Stretch]
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\NoChangingWallPaper - Value = 1 [Restricts user to change the wallpaper/ Background
Following are the explorer path where the wallpaper locally gets loaded:
%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\CachedFiles
%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\TranscodedWallpaper
Did all possible checks but not getting to the root cause to fix it permanently.
Is there any FIX for this issue?
Is there any way that we can get the wallpaper loaded and make it forcefully visible at the startup phase it self?
Thank you,
Regards,
