Howdy,

We have new laptops that have fingerprint sensors built in (Dell XPS 9570) and we'd like to allow users that get them to use their fingerprint to log onto their laptops. We don't really want them to have the option of using a PIN if we don't have to. We'd like the options to be either a fingerprint or their standard domain credentials.

This leads me to two questions:

1) How exactly do we allow the fingerprint sign in to work? I've read a lot online and found that there are group policy settings specifically for this but that everyone says they don't work. Instead, people say to put in a registry key that activates the setup buttons to setup a fingerprint. What is the actual official way to set this up.

2) What options do we have for letting people sign in? Can we enable fingerprint but disable PIN? If we have to enable a PIN, can we require a really long one? We don't want to sacrifice security for the sake of convenience.

Thanks!
