I just installed a fresh copy of Windows 10, and linked my Microsoft account during setup. When I went to link my File History backup, it didn't recognize the paths because the new profile created was under users\pjber instead of users\PJ. So I created a new local admin account named PJ, which created the files in the correct location so File History recognized them. I then deleted the pjber user and restarted the PC. But, when then trying to link my Microsoft account to the new local account, it said that Microsoft account was already linked to a profile on this PC. I then searched the registry for the email address used, and found it in one place, so deleted that key. Restarted the PC, but it still says it was already linked. The only other place the email address showed up in the registry was as the RegisteredOwner of this copy of Windows. How can I now link my local account to my Microsoft account?
