Windows 10 Desktop icon issue

Has anyone had the experience of desktop icons from applications mysteriously moving into the Recycle Bin? I have a user who swears that one of her application icons is moving into the Recycle Bin without assistance.

I've researched and found an instance of OneDrive causing on issue but only with the icons that are default with Windows.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.
