I have an issue with one of our servers, when logging on to the box via
remote desktop there is no display, we can enter the credentials flying blind
and then the console will appear. Any ideas would be appreciated.

OS: Win server 2003 std SP1

HW: DL380
Graphics: RAGE XL PCI - Driver Date 22/03/04

I have loaded the lastest PSP pack 7.90a - Graphics is at latest revision

Cheers

Re: No display when using remote desktop

Hello,

any special configuration on the RDP client (no wallpaper;set to low
connection...)? version 6 ?
Are you on a wan ?
Any eventlog on the server ?

Is the network working properly (no duplex mismatch...) ?

Does this occur from more than one workstation ?

Re: No display when using remote desktop

Everything is stock standard on the box, no wallpaper, resolution has been
changed to 600 x 800 and 1024 x 768 setting monitor refresh rate from 60-70htz

We are accessing this box over the LAN - It's our production Exchange server

Network is teamed @ 2GB - Load balanced

This is the only box affected.

Thanks again

RE: No display when using remote desktop

Hi,
The Network is teaming is causing he problem.
Try to disable one of the cards and try again.

If it works configure the teaming again.

Sorted the issue now, the registry settings for 'colors' were set to null
values. I exported the working reg files from another exchange box and
imported, tested ok.

Working reg keys below...

"ActiveTitle"="10 36 106"
"AppWorkSpace"="128 128 128"

Re: No display when using remote desktop

this happens on some of our servers if we use the console switch, look in
your properties (right click and view properties of the icon that us use to
run RDP) and remove it to see if that helps

Re: No display when using remote desktop

I have seen this reset happen when C: runs out of space. Don't know if
that's what happened to this server.
