Lexmark printer showing as HP under "Devices and Printers"

Hi there,

We are currently replacing our aging HP 602dn printers with Lexmark MS622dn printer. Both printers are using their respective universal print drivers (UPD) installed on a print server. The client workstations are running on Windows 10.

We do the following steps when replacing the HP 602 with the Lexmark MS622. Please note that the printer name, port (ip address) stays the same except for the drivers:

1. On the print server, the HP UPD is changed to Lexmark UPD for the printer name that is being replaced with a Lexmark.
2. On the client, the mapping for the HP printer is removed. Then the same printer name is remapped (\\printserver_name\printerA)

After remapping the same printer name, the following scenarios are seen on the client workstations:

A. Under "Devices and Printers", right clicking on printerA then selecting "Properties" will show a property window. The "General" tab shows below data:
Manufacturer = HP
Model = HP LaserJet 600 M601 M602 M603
Model Number = Unavailable
Categories = Laser Printer
Description = LaserJet Printer

However clicking on the "Hardware" tab will show Lexmark everywhere.

B. Under "Devices and Printers", double clicking on the printer will bring up the "Printer Action" window for HP LaserJet 600 M601 M602 M603. If we click on "Customize your printer" link, it will bring up the "Printer Properties" for the Lexmark printer.

C. Under "Devices and Printers", right clicking on printerA then selecting "Printing Preferences" shows Lexmark's Printing Preference menus

D. b. Under "Devices and Printers", right clicking on printerA then selecting "Printer Properties" will bring up the Windows Properties for that printer and shows everything Lexmark

Scenarios C & D are normal (and the expected output) when switching from the HP UPD to Lexmark UPD.
However, there is an anomaly on scenarios A & B. The remapped printer also doesn't show the correct Lexmark printer icon or the generic Windows printer icon. Instead it shows the old HP printer's icon. Printing functionality works fine but this anomaly is leaving us puzzled.

We've tried the following with no luck:
Remove the HP driver package using printui /s /t2
All HP software uninstalled under Programs and Features
Followed recommendations from here:

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
