Hello! My computer has been acting strangely and (I guess maybe) has malware, but I've been forum-digging all day to no success. (Specifically, Windows Defender won't turn on (greyed out), and won't perform any kind of scan (button is non-responsive), and that sort of thing.)
The latest windows updates also gets an error:
Definition Update for Windows Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Definition 1.293.2354.0) - Error 0x80070643
Among other things I tried was to manually download the update (Latest definition updates for Windows Defender Antivirus and other Microsoft antimalware - Microsoft Security Intelligence), and I downloaded the correct x64 Windows Defender Antivirus for Windows 10 and Windows 8.1, but when I click on the downloaded mpam-fe file, the cursor just turns into a blue circle briefly and does nothing. I've tried right-clicking it and running it as administrator, but same thing. No window, no pop up, nothing.
Any idea on why that might be?
