Hello!
I own both a Windows 10 1809 desktop PC and a very old Windows 7 laptop, which has become suddenly unable to boot.
I created a Windows PE USB bootable disk from the Windows 10 desktop (following the guide in Docs > Windows Hardware > Manufacture > Desktop manufacturing), just to recover data from Windows 7 laptop. I hope that the version mismatch does not affect this operation.
When I boot Windows PE, I only have a cmd.exe interface (no desktop, no icons). "list vol" in "diskpart" correctly shows the system and data NTFS partitions, which are respectively C and D. It also shows an external USB hard drive as G, and the Windows PE USB drive as F. However, I can't "cd" into any of them!
Prompt is on "X:\windows\system32>". If I try "cd C:\", or "D:\", "G:\" and even "F:\", prompt is rewritten as "X:\windows\system32>".

- How can I cd into one of the above disks?
- How can I recover data from C:\ and D:\ in this case?
