I have a Dell Latitude 3340 that is having startup issues. It originally had Windows 7 installed, but someone began the upgrade to Windows 10. Now when it starts, a screen pops up that asks to choose which OS to run or tab to pick the memory check. Choosing either OS gets a pop up that says "Setup is starting services", then to an Install Windows error screen that says "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation." Clicking OK gets another pop up before the restart that says "Setup will continue after restart." The computer restarts, but goes into the same loop each time.
I checked the BIOS. The computer has 4 GB of DDR3L SDRAM, 1.40 GHz processor, 500 GB HD. I also altered the startup sequence to have it boot from the attached USB DVD drive, which contains a Windows 10 Pro installation DVD. That has not helped in any way.
