We are in the process of replacing our off-domain kiosk machines with new devices, and instead of using local group policy to administer these we would like to look at implementing AssignedAccess single app kiosk mode to run a browser.
This browser will point to a web-page where we want the users to upload files from a thumb drive to our cloud provider, it does this by opening a file explorer window where the users can select the files from the local machine to upload.
After having edited the GPO for the AssignedAccess user account, we are able to get the C drive to display (This will be hidden eventually), however on connecting a thumb drive it appears briefly (<1 second) in the list of drives in the explorer window before disappearing. If we attempt to browse to the drive directly (D:\) we get a pop message stating,
"We can't open 'D:\'. Your organization has blocked it."
Can anyone advise us of what mechanism is causing this and furthermore, how to prevent it from occurring so we can use AssignedAccess in this way.
