Hello all,

This is major issue we are facing in our newly deployed windows 10 devices which is deployed using SCCM CB and enabled co-management (SCCM + Intune)

Last three weeks , we got reports from multiple users that device have been restarted randomly by providing only 10 minutes without any defer option (restart happened twice a day in a span of 2 weeks)

We checked if any monthly windows update issue and saw july cumulative updates are successfully installed from events

We checked the event logs , we got below event which doesn't provide exact reason for restart

The process C:\WINDOWS\system32\omadmclient.exe (device) has initiated the restart of computer on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: Operating System: Reconfiguration (Planned)
Reason Code: 0x80020004
Shutdown Type: restart
Comment:

Tried investigating the windowsupdate.log also but no useful info of reason of restart behaviour

checked for any other logs or diagnostic tool which would give root cause of problems but couldnt find one

Meanwhile we found out that after the random restart users are getting UAC prompt for Optional features

So our suspect on the cause of the random restart multiple times

1.July windows update installed which is trying to reconfigure OS for some broken service

2.Windows optional feature trying to connect to internet and updating which is broken /failed (checked cbs logs no details)

We are stuck at finding the root cause of a reboot triggered by omadmclient.exe

request help/ tips/solution to find the root cause of issue , this issue very much disturbing

Regards,

Kalai
