Hi,

I am running Vista but one of my updates (Intel Corporation driver update
for Mobile Intel(R) 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family) has failed to install.
It is only listed as optional, which is why I have waited so long to deal
with it.

The 'install' is listed under update history as failed. The error code is
800705B4. Which I understand simply means it timed out. At the time I think
my Internet connection cut out part way through, or something like that.

However, when I search for available updates, the above mentioned update is
not found. Since I haven't fully installed it, I can't uninstall it (as far
as I know) but at the same time, I am not able to redownload it either.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Alastair

Re: failed update instalation, but can't restart

Hi There,

Go to windows update site and disable the specific OPTIONAL driver update
(hide it)

Taking driver updates from windows update is really not a good idea
unlessyou like problems!!!

If your device is working fine it is recommanded not to update the driver,if
really needed, if the device is not functioning well that is, you should
take a driver from the manufacturers website.

If you are experiencing troubles now: Try rolling back on the driver, boot
last known good configuration or use system restore to to a date before the
problem occured to try and work around the occured problem.

Take the original driver from your mainboard driver cd if needed.

Best regards,
Michel Denie
