Hi all,

Edge starts and I can see the main window open, but it hangs and then terminates after a few seconds with no visible errors. Event logs are below. Edge does work when I boot to safe mode with networking.

Here is what I've tried (not in order):

  1. Reset Edge
  2. Repair Edge
  3. Run "sfc /scannow." The SFC - I've run that 5-6 times - once found a corruption error and repaired it (supposedly). It no longer finds errors.
  4. Yelled curse words at the computer.
  5. Used CCleaner to repair any registry errors it could find
  6. Have disabled AV
  7. Uninstalled endpoint protection
  8. Disabled UAC
  9. Tried to use the windows updates troubleshooter. WU Troubleshooter finds "database corruption," but I've "repaired" that a dozen times now and nothing changes. It supposedly corrects a "potential windows update database error" and also the WU components.
  10. Complained to my wife.
  11. Tried adding a new local user, but keep getting failure messages when trying to logon as that user. It was something about being unable to reach some service, but I don't recall the specific message.
  12. I have tried to rollback to a few previous checkpoints, but all of them failed due to corruption (really useful feature, that one).
  13. Removed the Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_41.16299.248.0_neutral__8wekyb3d8bbwe folder and refreshed the install via powershell.

I'm the admin and I have one local user also.

My wife and cardiologist would be grateful if you can help remedy this problem. Thanks.
