I have Windows 10 Home, version 1709, 64 bit. I have a number of folders with long names (still less than 255 characters) that contain files with long names (also less than 255 characters), however the total path is more than 260 characters (usually 300-400 characters total). I have done the regedit: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem LongPathsEnabled REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1) to enable longpaths, but it still does not work.
As an example, I need the following: F:\Company XYZ Vacation Plans With Applicable Personnel and Financial Restrictions Included in the Next Pending Fiscal Year Budget With Projections into the Following Fiscal Year\Management, Supervisory and Floor Personnel With Payscale, Amount of Vacation Time Available Including use of Holiday and Flex, Comp Time.jpg (322 Characters)
Even after the regedit fix all I get is F:\Company XYZ Vacation Plans With Applicable Personnel and Financial Restrictions Included in the Next Pending Fiscal Year Budget With Projections into the Following Fiscal Year\Management, Supervisory and Floor Personnel With Payscale, Amount of (247 Characters)
The path I am trying to create is 322 characters. I thought Microsoft had done away with the restriction (260 Characters) of long filepath names (within reason), especially after the regedit above was made. What do I have to do to get Windows to accept the longname? It is not an option to shorten the filepath name.
