We've recently started the testing phase of implementing Windows Update for Business bia Group Policy. We followed this guide:
Configure Windows Update for Business via Group Policy (Windows 10)
Everything seems to be working as intended for Windows 10 builds 1803 through 1903, however users on version 1703/1709 are not getting notifications prompting them to install their updates. Deadlines also don't seem to matter. They do get a red dot on the Windows Defender Security Center icon, but being buried in the system tray I'm fairly certain most of my users won't notice it. ADMX templates are updated to version 1903. We followed this article:
Enforce compliance deadlines with policies in Windows Update for Business (Windows 10)
This is the RSoP for one of the 1709 machines.
State GPO Name
Windows Update
Configure auto-restart required notification for updates Enabled WUFB - IT
Configure Automatic Updates Enabled WUFB - IT
Specify deadlines for automatic updates and restarts Enabled WUFB - IT
Allow non-administrators to receive update notifications Enabled WUFB - IT
Specify Engaged restart transition and notification schedule for updates Enabled WUFB - IT
Do not include drivers with Windows Updates Disabled WUFB - IT
Allow Automatic Updates immediate installation Enabled WUFB - IT
Configure auto-restart warning notifications schedule for updates Enabled WUFB - IT
Windows Update for Business
Select when Preview Builds and Feature Updates are received Enabled WUFB - IT
Select when Quality Updates are received Enabled WUFB - IT
Manage preview builds Enabled WUFB - IT
Any advice, or tips on what we missed to get notifications and deadlines working for WUFB would be appreciated.
Thank you
