When moving files between computers the USB flash drive is inserted.
Windows explorer is opened, One Drive, Drop Box, or Google drive is opened, then drag and drop is performed.
Windows explorer and the cloud software is closed.
Before removing the flash drive, the right lower corner arrow is clicked to show hidden icons.
Safely remove hardware and eject media is clicked.
Too often it will produce a popup displaying:
The device is currently in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again.
1) How can you identify the program or window that it is referring to?
2) If Task manger or Process monitor is used how would you identify the program or window that it is referring to?
3) Is there a better method or are you left with only rebooting or removing the flash drive unsafely?
