I am new to Windows 10, having been a Win7 holdout until the looming sunset.
Having seen an apparent escalation in ransomware attacks, I today enabled Controlled Folder Access for the first time. It works, but my 3rd party applications are failing silently in random ways.
I finally figured out that Focus Assist was suppressing notification of CFA blockage, so I turned FA off and now I see notifications. That's a little better.
What I'd really like is a pop-up confirmation dialog saying "Application <whatever> has been blocked from accessing controlled folders. Would you like to allow it? Yes/No". Then I could just say Yes and continue working without having to go to the CFA settings page and manually add the app to the whitelist.
Is there a setting I'm not seeing or does such an easy way to whitelist an app not exist? Thanks in advance.
