I am trying to deploy a partial start menu throughout a school using windows 10 education. it automatically has the school essentials on the start menu but we would like a partial layout with certain office programs on there but not other as we don't use them all within the school. The layout has to be partial so staff and students are able to pin other things that they use frequently to the start menu.
I have no issue deploying a custom menu through registry, group or user policy using the <DefaultLayoutOverride> command but as soon as I put the command <DefaultLayoutOverride LayoutCustomizationRestrictionType=”OnlySpecifiedGroups”>into the xml document the menu locks and reverts back to the initial school essentials rather than the custom menu we want deployed. this occurs with both roaming and local profiles as we wanted to check it was not the roaming ones that were creating the problems.
Any help would be appreciated thank you!
