I have almost 250 library public use computers across 15 branches running Windows 10 and SAM by Comprise.
We use group policy to disallow access to the local hard drive, but because of how Windows works, users do have access to the windows folder and their profile folder etc.
When downloading a file, the user is presented with a dialog box "Restrictions This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.
Clicking OK leads to the same dialog box immediately popping up.
Clicking OK again brings the user to the Save As dialog box
From there a user can click Save and it will save to the desktop.
Also the user can right click on the desktop and choose New and can create files directly on the desktop using the right click context menus.
I would like continue disallowing access to the C drive, without those warning dialog boxes.
Some computers have DVD drives, so the USB flash drive isn't always D:.
I am trying to avoid using Deep Freeze or Clean Slate because those cause other issues that I do not wish to deal with.
