Windows 10 Renaming Favorites in Quick Access

Has MS come up with a fix for not being able to rename quick access favorites without renaming the directory? it is reeking havoc throughout the company as people do not realize the are renaming directories and screwing up links. Regardless it also makes the quick access someone useless. I have 15 different folders named December within different structures. Why would they do this?
