I have problem with SP2 that failed on initial installation and currently
cannot be reinstalled or uninstalled. I have tried all steps in KB822798 with
no success.
This is the end of the uninstall log-spuninst.log:
88.015: PFE1: Failed to CreateRemoteThread; error=0x8
88.015: PFE2: PFE1 failed.
88.015: PFE2: Not avoiding Per File Exceptions.
1013.859: InstallSingleCatalogFile: MyInstallCatalog failed for
Tmp.2.sp2.cat; error=0xfffffbfe.
1013.859: DoPreUninstallWrapper: InstallCatalogFiles failed
1013.969: CreateProgressWizardAndDoUninstall: Uninstall Failure 0x2
Researching the error I found the KB925931.
I contacted Microsoft support but the response time is 24 hours and I need
the machine...
Is there a work around this "full database" stuff? It is hard for me to
imagine that MS did not release a fix for that... Win 2003 is suppose to be
ENT level server...
If Itry to manually install SP2 manually, I receive the following pop-up
error:
Failed to install catalog files. Tried all methods in KB822798 with no luck.
Thanks a lot, mj
