Just deployed out the Monthly patches - mainly the Jan 2020 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Enterprise 1803
We are a predominantly an HP estate with a lot of HP Elitedesk X360 devices
After patching the user is forced to restart and you see the normal do not switch off your PC 10%/20%/30% etc. but when it restarts it never gets up to windows - you see the HP Surestart logo with spinning dots but it never passes control over to windows. Have to do a safeboot and once into windows the patches sort themselves out.
I have a ticket open with HP but what I am really trying to find is how to work out exactly WHAT is clashing. I am assuming it must be some sort of driver mismatch given that Safeboot resolves but is there log file or event viewer in Windows that would steer me into the right direction
