If I type win key + r and write down the path "C:\Users\username\Pictures" Explorer opens with the pictures folder under this pc selected on the left navigation pane.

The same happens when you open a file or folder dialog and write down the path "C:\Users\username\Pictures", that is Explorer somehow recognizes the written path and selects the pictures folder under this pc on the left navigation pane.

This does not happen for the default folder 3D objects under this pc, that is when "C:\Users\username\3D objects" is typed in win key + r the 3D objects folder under user profile folder is selected on the navigation pane instead of the 3D objects folder under this pc.

It seems that the value "ParsingName" under "folderdescriptions" registry key is somehow involved in making Explorer select a particular folder on the navigation pane.

I say that because changing for example the "ParsingName" data of the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\{7d83ee9b-2244-4e70-b1f5-5393042af1e4}" (local downloads) from shell:::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\::{088e3905-0323-4b02-9826-5d99428e115f} to "shell:::{5E6C858F-0E22-4760-9AFE-EA3317B67173}\::{088e3905-0323-4b02-9826-5d99428e115f}" and restarting Explorer has the effect of making explorer select the download folder under user profile folder. (instead of the download folder under this pc)

I tried to create the "ParsingName" value under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\{31C0DD25-9439-4F12-BF41-7FF4EDA38722}" (3D objects) setting its data to "shell:::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\::{0DB7E03F-FC29-4DC6-9020-FF41B59E513A}" but unfortunatly typing "C:\Users\username\3D objects" on win key + r still opens explorer without selecting 3D objects folder under this pc.

I tried all the possible registry tweaks but with no success.

To be more precise I know that I can open an explorer window with the 3D objects folder selected on the navigation pane under this pc using a shortcut, that is not what I'm trying to achieve.

Is it possible to make so that explorer recognizes the 3D objects folder added under this pc and acts like it does with the default folders under this pc as I explained above? (My question is valid also for custom folder added under this pc)
