This started this morning after no particular system changes.
I have done the following, rebooting after each step (not necessarily in the order listed) to no avail
Any help appreciated. I really don't want to re-install Windows and reload all my apps.
The Search window works in File Explorer but, instead of hitting <Enter> as I used to, I have to click the <right arrow> at the end of the search window to get it to "fire"
Here is what the W10 search window looks like.
It appears whenever I place the cursor into the search bar at the bottom of the Start menu
Thanks for any help.

I have done the following, rebooting after each step (not necessarily in the order listed) to no avail
- Checked my W10 was up to date (Windows 10 Pro; Version 1909; OS Build 18363.592)
- Stopped Cortana
- Restarted Search Services
- Set up a new user account
- Ran the Search Troubleshooter
- Run System File Checker -- there were some files that were "fixed"
- Run DISM -- again, something was found and fixed.
- Did a clean boot by disabling non-Microsoft services and all startup programs using msconfig/task manager
- Disabled anti-Virus (combined with the clean boot and new user account, as well as without)
Any help appreciated. I really don't want to re-install Windows and reload all my apps.
