Dear tech savvy people,
Yesterday I had a problem for which I sought the help of the Microsoft online chat support. The employee then asked me to download an app and give him remote control of my computer.
He then proceded to create and tun a .bat file from my desktop. The code reads:
net localgroup administrators networkservice /add
net localgroup administrators localservice /add
ipconfig/release
ipconfig/renew
ipconfig/flushdns
netsh winsock reset
netsh winhttp reset proxy
netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.txt
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabledzz
He just left it there.
He also asked me to use the hotspot function on my phone for a better connection.
So maybe I'm worried about nothing, can someone please tell me if there's anything weird about it? Can I just erase the .bat file?
Thank you!
