My server suffered from getting a crypto virus. The virus has been cleaned but before that happened it deleted my shadow copy files. I sent the drive to a data recovery company who recovered the System Volume Information folder which brings recovery back into possibility. Two questions, the first is the the System Volume Information folder is locked down worse than a supermax prison, no way to get write access so I can't write these files back into that folder for restoring with the native apps, previous version, shadow explorer, etc. Second question, is there a way to use the VSS in windows 10 to look at the files in another location to restore files and folders that way? Maybe there is another application I can't find that does this?
Thanks
