Windows update is terrible! First, I’m not a novice. My first computer was before win 95. The update process has only gotten slower. I have 4 computers now running windows, if not for my monetary investment I’m ready to kick them all to the curb and try an Apple Os. My laptop is now 2 years old running win version 1809. It has been a battle to update from day one. Every month it updates takes 4 or 5 hours to download and install buy the time I get all the cumulative updates installed. I have to start all over for next month. I let it update overnight 8 or 9 hours when I get up it is still updating fails to install after 2 or 3 tries it finally succeeds in installing updates. I don’t have high speed internet. I have DSL line it works great. All monthly rollouts are now up to date. The problem now is the feature update 1909 it says I need to update and install. II have tried 4 times to update I let it download all night it gets to 99% and stays there for hours till I finally restart. So last week I went to the library, (they have faster internet) I log on, everything is working well I disable AVG. click download and install feature update 1909 2 hours later it gets to 99% and stops. FAIL So yesterday I go back to the library try again, click update and install. then (getting things ready) that takes 45 minutes, then it starts downloading. I have learned not to try to do any other work or surf the web it just slows everything down. It downloads for another hour finally gets to 100% then pending install, I wait, it finally starts to install gets to 15%. I have to head home, when I get there I plug in to AC power still installing 26% over the next 2 hours it finally gets to 100% I wait till it says restart required then restart, it restarts and I get the blue screen ( do not turn off your computer. This will take some time) over the next 5 hours it gets to 90%. I go to bed, get up the next morning still at 90%. This is BS. Please don’t tell me to try again or download to a thumb drive. How long will that take? Microsoft wants me to install a new version of Windows then give me the media to do so. Once I have downloaded updates to 100% why do I have to start all over again?

What is the solution??
