Hello everybody,

call me old-fashioned, but I like to separate the data from the actual system.
So far, I've only moved the folder like documents, pictures... with the explorer gui as supported by microsoft.
However, it would be perfect if the whole profile folder were somewhere else.

Changing the paths under the registry key "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList" works, but there are still a view other entries - attached a screenshot.

Maybe a symbolic link would be better?

Is the current status still (at least it was the case until vista) that microsoft strongly advises not to move the folder?
What are your experiences?
Problems with updates, bitlocker...

Thanks and greetings,
Martin
