My wife had a problem on her computer. Screen came up asking her to call Microsoft and a number.
I called and spoke with Justin who claimed to be a Microsoft employee.
He ran some checks on her computer and claimed that Spyeye Virus from China Hackers had infected her computer and our home network.
He then said that his technicians could "fix" it and that he could have a ASA 5500-Firewall installed to protect our network and all the computers, etc on our network. He logged into her computer with me on it.
He called back and claimed the problem was fixed and offered to sell us the ASA 5500-Firewall for 5 years protection at $500. Various plans but he was selling the 5-year plan.
He wanted my checking account number. I said credit card and a paypal screen came up. I did not give either and told him to call back.
Is this a scam?
