Windows 10 Windows 10 Explorer Quick Access limited to 4 folders--any way to increase this number?

The frequent folders initial display in Windows Explorer has a default of 4 maximum folders. I have also noted in searching for an answer to this question that it is also supposed to display frequent files, but this has never been present on my computer. Is there a way to change the default to more than 4 folders? Is there a trick to make the frequent files display?
