I recently had a problem with starting a new Windows 10 machine that was set to restart in Safe mode and the only way back in was to reset the password. Unfortunately the bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot command failed and I had to go in using a password reset program. That program allowed me to get back in as administrator but the original account that was setup with AzureAD/username is no longer accessible or working.
All the files that I no longer have access directly are in the C:\Users\username directory.
I have copied those files out for safety but I would like to go back to having them all accessible by using the username and login as was done before.
Is there a way to do that ?
Should I just give up copy the drive out to an external drive and reinstall Windows 10 Pro again ?
Please let me know if there is a solution besides starting over
Thanks
