Windows 7 NEW COMPUTER USING WINDOWS 7 WILL NOT WAKE UP FROM SLEEP MODE. I HAVE TO MANUALLY TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON.

New laptop with Windows 7 does not wake up from SLEEP MODE. I have moved the computer, moved the cursor, pushed every key on the keyboard, moved the space bar but nothing wakes it up. I always have to manually turn the computer off and then turn it on again. I have searched the FORUM but don't see anyone having my problem. I have searched under SLEEP MODE in GETTING STARTED WITH WINDOWS 7 but I don't find where they address the different modes. Any suggestions?
