The symptoms I am experiencing can be found in KB885523, but I do not have TV
Media installed, the problem occurs with SP1 as well as SP2, and the patch
can not be installed on X64 platform. I have had to reinstall the OS three
times in the last 12 hours. Can't get my system up and running. Help me
please....

RE: Stop c0000135 winsrv not found on restart -- Help

Hello,
Soe more detail may be needed as to the scenario.
There is no SP1 for X64 so that part is confusing.
You state that you reinstalled three times and then you mention the service
packs.,

So does the problem happen after the clean installs or does the problem
only happen after installing SP2 for Windows Server 2003 ( also Windows XP
X64 edition)?

If so then this article may be more applicable:
937481 Error message when you restart a Windows Server 2003-based computer:
"Stop c0000135 {Unable to Locate DLL}"

RE: Stop c0000135 winsrv not found on restart -- Help

The problem happens after clean install and seems to be related to
PARETOLOGIC's REGCURE software. I currently have the system stable with only
XP X64 (SP2) and native drivers installed. Thank you for your response.

Re: Stop c0000135 winsrv not found on restart -- Help

Most of us here would tell you to NOT use registry cleaners. Certainly I
would. Even in the 32-bit world, they're a solution to a non-existent
problem, and one that brings huge risks. In the 64-bit world? I wouldn't
touch them.

Thanks for the input Charlie. Seems I have learned the hard way :-) System is
stable now, but for a lack of X64 drivers, I am thinking that I will create a
32 bit partition.

Re: Stop c0000135 winsrv not found on restart -- Help

You might want to simply create a virtual 32-bit machine for those few
things you need that don't do 64-bit. If it will work for you, it's a better
solution all the way around, IMHO. See my blog post on it.
