Does registry editor hold your license key?

I ran a virus. it reset my windows and i have activate windows watermark. Luckily i made a backup of my registry. i'm scared running this back could destroy my PC. but the question im wondering. if i do run this backup. will the activate windows watermark go away? (my laptop had windows activated before)
