I have a Lenovo machine running Windows 10 Home, and an HP machine running Windows 10 Pro; I'm facing a weird issue on both the machines.
Both the machines are getting about 30Mbps, whereas my phone is getting about 120Mbps. This is a very big difference in speeds, and thus, unexpected.
Furthermore, whenever I am on a Google Meet call or a Zoom call with my co-workers, they always complain that I keep getting frozen, i.e. I keep going in and out of calls.
I tried re-installing Windows and the speeds were back up to 120Mbps for about a week or so and the calls seemed to be working just fine. But then the speeds went down to 30Mbps and the calls started having issues once again. I'm not sure what may be causing this problem. I purchased the HP machine after thinking there was a Hardware issue with my Lenovo machine, coz I had dropped it and it had cracked the screen. But I'm facing exactly the same issue on my HP machine as well. The fact that there is such a vast difference between speeds on my Windows machines and my phone doesn't make much sense to me.
I'm wondering if there are any softwares that are causing this issue?
Here are the softwares that are usually always on, on my machine:
Tableau 10.5
SQL Workbench/J
Google Chrome
Jupyter Notebook
Putty
I tried switching off the Windows Defender firewall as well, but it didn't seem to help.
I also tried to check my internet reliability by using the following command:
ping -n 9999 google.com
and I didn't notice any issues there.
Any help in this matter would be much appreciated.
